Bikeshare is a public bicycle sharing system where bikes are available to individuals to use for a fee. In Indianapolis, a network of over 50 bike stations are located within a few blocks of one another on or near the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick and across the city near trails and bike infrastructure. Pacers Bikeshare bikes are available when you need them near your favorite spots, your office, or your neighborhood. Once you are done with your ride, simply dock your bike at any of the available stations.
Getting Started with Bikeshare
About Pacers Bikeshare
What is bikeshare?
Who operates Pacers Bikeshare?
Can I ride a Pacers Bikeshare bike to the Indy 500?
Since bikeshare bikes must be returned to a Pacers Bikeshare station when you’re done riding, we strongly discourage using Pacers Bikeshare to get to the Indy 500. At this time, there are no docking stations near the track. Usage fees ($0.20-$0.25 per minute) start when you check out a bike and continue until it is returned to a station.
Using Pacers Bikeshare
When is the Pacers Bikeshare system available?
What do I do if a station is empty?
Use the BCycle App to view the map and current bike and dock availability at any station.
What do the lights and sounds on the dock signify?
A Pacers Bikeshare dock beeps when a bike has been unlocked or when the bike has been returned.
When the bike is unlocked, the dock beeps continuously until the bike is removed (or 30 seconds, whichever comes first). The green light will also flash from the time the bike is unlocked until it is removed from the dock.
When a bike is returned and properly inserted into the dock, the dock will beep three times very quickly, and the green light will likewise blink three times very rapidly.
If the red “X” is lit on the dock, there is a problem with either the bike or the dock itself. Try a different dock!
Do e-bike batteries charge at the stations?
No, e-bike batteries do not charge at stations. Our team monitors battery levels and refreshes the batteries when they are low.
Do I have to return my bike to the same station where I checked it out?
No! You can return your bike to any of our 50+ stations when you are done riding.
Who can I contact / call with questions?
If you need assistance with riding Pacers Bikeshare or with your account, please call 317-653-1947 or email operations@indyculturaltrail.org.
I can’t use the BCycle App. Can I still ride Pacers Bikeshare?
While using the BCycle app is the easiest way to ride Pacers Bikeshare, you can still ride without using the app using a RFID card at our docks.
Need help getting a card? Please reach out to us at 317-653-1947 or operations@indyculturaltrail.org.
